IMN Legnica Division awarded in Brussels, at 60th edition of International Eureka Contest - INNOVA 2011.

Gold medal with mention in metallurgy section:

“Wasteless battery waste treatment process” - The waste from crushing of batteries is separated by sieve and water method, in the form of paste, metallic parts, lead and plastics. Waste electrolyte is fed to the process of hydrometallurgical treatment of dust removed from gases produced in rotary – rocking furnaces in the process of smelting lead from the waste. Pyrometallurgical treatment of lead-bearing materials, i.e. metallic fraction and lead paste is effected separately in rotary – rocking furnace. Plates function as reducers and additional power source. Slags produced in the smelting process are fed, on ongoing basis, to the other rotary – rocking furnace in the form of a fusing agent for the basic furnace feed. Process gases are dedusted and desulfurised. Plastics are disintegrated to the final product – pellets - and fed to injection moulding machines.

Silver medal in metallurgy section:

“Rotary – rocking metallurgic furnace for oxidation of metals and their alloys” - The advantage of such furnace is the improved efficiency of oxidation process and elimination of the adverse effects of material reeling, obstructing the contact with oxygen. In order to achieve that five ceramic shells were executed from which the material is thrown down and scattered evenly throughout the whole surface. It has the beneficial effect to expansion of the contact surface of feed with oxidizing atmosphere, as well as raising and equalising the temperature of furnace feed by improving the access of burner flames to the feed. Lifting and throwing down of the feed improves the intensity of mixing and eliminates the surface of feed without any contact with oxygen.

Since 1959 we improve the existing and searching for new practices in recycling and technology of non-ferrous metal recovering.

Institute of Non-ferrous Metals is a R+D unit. The scope of activity is all stages of metal production process - from the ores to the final products.

Our offer: waste recycling, metal recovering, research and development in new technologies and process optimalisation.

Main companies from metal sector value our services. We cooperate with head academic centres and R&D institutes in Poland and many years of experience let us offer the innovative and competitive solutions.

IMN Legnica Division manages 4 production plants:

  • Metallurgy Experimental Plant
  • Chemistry Experimental Plant
  • Special Production Plant
  • Abrasives Production Plant
